About the Savor the Hope Gala
Devereux Texas’ Annual Savor the Hope Gala raises much-needed funds to benefit hundreds of children, adolescents, and adults with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences served by Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Texas. The gala provides a special opportunity to recognize and thank our incredible donors and community partners whose support ensures we can continue to deliver outstanding programs and services. Our ultimate goal is to help all of the individuals and families we serve achieve more fulfilling and rewarding lives, and the support provided by charitable individuals and corporations is critical to making that goal a reality every year.

Elaine and Jim Turner
Elaine and Jim hold many roles in their lives – fashion entrepreneurs, philanthropists, parents, daughter, son, sister, and brother. But all these roles only tell part of their story; Jim and Elaine’s hearts beat through connection with other people, especially people with disabilities. Elaine and Jim have a 17-year-old daughter, Marlie, who is autistic. Marlie has played a defining role in Elaine and Jim’s heart-centered mission to give back to people with intellectual, mental, and neurological differences. Elaine states, “Being a mother to a special needs child, I know full well how difficult it can be to find a community that will provide support and resources for your child. But discovering a place that will go the extra mile and embrace them with love, acceptance, and belonging is a miracle, and Devereux is a place where miracles happen!”

Houston-based, Parisian trained designer, David Peck studied fashion design at Ecole Parsons à Paris (Parsons Paris School of Art + Design) after beginning his career as a classical cellist. While in Paris, David worked for renowned fashion houses such as Paco Rabanne, Junichi Hakamaki, and Robert Normand, and also as a style consultant and costume designer for several films.
